North Shore Senior Center is hosting the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra for a series of three chamber music concerts during the winter of 2014. The first concert, "Romance for Winds: Europe and America," is scheduled for Sunday, January 26, at 3 p.m. It features "Quintet Op. 79" by August Klughardt, "Bagatelles for Woodwind Quintet" by Tom Benjamin, and "Quintetto in G Minor" by Ottorino Respighi. Guest CPS musicians are Jennifer Clippert (flute), Erica Anderson (oboe), Barbara Drapcho (clarinet), Colin Anderson (bassoon) and Jeremiah Frederick (horn). Individual concert tickets are $19 for members and $25 for non-members. Tickets for the entire series are $50 for members and $65 for non-members. The concert is free for students 18 years or younger. This concert series has been sponsored, in part, by Von Maur, Radford Green at Sedgebrook and Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter. This series benefits the Chicago Philharmonic Society and North Shore Senior Center.
