Saturday, July 12 The Book Stall Free
Susan Davis
On Saturday, July 12th at 10:30 AM we are delighted to welcome author and illustrator Darcy Day Zoells back to The Book Stall (811 Elm Street in Winnetka) for Saturday Storytime! She will be sharing her new book, Smithy and Me, a sweet and funny celebration of the bond between a child and their dog. This free program is recommended for ages 3 and up! You can expect not only a story but some drawing by both the author and the audience!
More About the Book: With relatable scenarios of an exhausted, working mom and a playful child, Smithy and Me captures the joy and messiness of their adventures and bond that ties them all together. From the winner of Clavis' 2022 US Key Colors Competition, Darcy Day Zoells, Smithy and Me features emotion-provoking illustrations that beautifully complement the story. A book full of imagination and fun, but also full of mess and mischief.
More About the Author: Darcy Day Zoells graduated from Northwestern University, where she studied art history and studio art. For ten years, she ran a visual literacy program in a K-5 school. She still feels passionate about helping children look critically and verbalize their questions about what they see. Her art history foundation and these experiences have had a profound effect on her work. In addition to Smithy and Me, she is also the author of Book Stall favorite The New Bicycle!
