Saturday Storytime with Ellen Stelter and Poppy the Dog!
Join us at The Book Stall (811 Elm Street in Winnetka) on March 8 at 10:30 am for Saturday Storytime with author Ellen Stelter featuring Poppy's First Adventure: Le Pont de Papillion! This picture book is the debut title in a heartwarming series of stories of compassion and courage about a kind-hearted pup with dreams of traveling the world. Ms. Stelter will be accompanied by her golden retriever, Poppy et Oiseau, and Poppy's little brother, Ois! This book is perfect for kids ages 3 to 8!
More About the Book: Papillion, Poppy for short, dreamed about one day traveling to magnificent lands. The puppy packs her bag for an adventure to France, and as her little brother smiles and waves goodbye, she klickity-klacks on a train from their house in the country, through the big city, then boards a plane at the airport.
Poppy's adventure is only just beginning when she meets a fellow traveler after landing in Paris. Bailey and Poppy become friends, and the two pups explore the beautiful city before encountering Pumpkin, a rascally cat who angrily chases Poppy. But when Pumpkin finds himself in need of help, Poppy doesn't hesitate to swoop in. In gratitude, the orange cat shares his knowledge of all the top spots in the city of lights--with his newly minted best friends.
More About the Author: Ellen J. Stelter is a world traveler and fluent French speaker having studied at the prestigious Sorbonne University in Paris. Alongside her loving husband Bill and two pups Papillion and Oiseau (yes dogs can speak French!), she is always thinking of others and how to help everyone see the best in one another. A long time French teacher, she has given the gift of knowledge to countless children and hopes to share her love of the world with young readers through Poppy’s First Adventure.
