The Music Gallery of Highland Park and The North Shore Music Institute in cooperation with Savi Productions is pleased to present "Rockin for a Cause" a Five Band, Two charity and One Event concert on Sunday March 11, 2012 from 12 noon until 4p.m. at The Cubby Bear North in Lincolnshire. The event will feature five local area bands playing classic, alternative and progressive rock covers and originals and will benefit The Free Wheelchair Mission and Erika's Lighthouse. There will be raffle prizes including lessons for guitar, bass and drums and even an acoustic guitar donated by the events' sponsors. Attendees will also be able to enjoy the great food and drinks from the full menu at The Cubby Bear.
"We were thrilled to be asked to be one of the charitable recipients for this exciting event" says Laurie Rosin, local director with Free Wheelchair Mission - "It will be our first time associated with a musical event like this - and we hope it won't be our last!" Executive Director of Erika's Lighthouse, Peggy Kubert, feels the same way - "We are very impressed that young people are taking an active interest in using their talents to give something back. We are very excited to be included as part of this event", she said.
