Independent Book Store Day at The Book Stall
Stop by Winnetka’s indie shop, The Book Stall (811 Elm Street), between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 29th to celebrate Independent Book Store Day! We’ll be a part of a national effort to recognize the importance of independent bookstores across the country. Each bookstore has their own ways of marking the day, and here at the Book Stall we’ll have some wonderful ways to celebrate! The day marks the 10th Anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day and we'll have plenty of activities and displays to mark the occasion!
- Stop by between 10:30 and 11:30 am for a story time with illustrator Jay Fleck, sharing his new picture book, Tiny T. Rex and the Grand Ta-Da! from the Tiny T. Rex series!
- Delicious T Rex cookies for young and old alike!
- A fun TEN scavenger hunt for kids!
- Coloring pages for kids and a community puzzling activity for adults!
- Free Advanced Reader Copies (ARC's) while supplies last!
- FREE 1 year membership to our discount club upon purchase (1 year added on to current members).
- FREE Book Stall SWAG for $100+ purchases (while supplies last).
- Sip and shop from 4:00pm to 5:00pm featuring libations from Good Grapes! We'll toast with some bubbly to celebrate 10 years and our wonderful community!
We will be featuring ten years of books, author talks, and store memories to commemorate the ten years of Independent Bookstore Day! The Book Stall will also be a stop on the Chicagoland Book Crawl, we'll have passports, stamps, and a Book Crawl pin (for those that visit 10+ stores) for Book Crawl participants! Readers are encouraged to post a snapshot of themselves and their Independent Bookstore Day haul on social media with the hashtag #ChiLoveBooks.
