Hubbard Woods Design and Dine First Friday

Hubbard Woods comes alive on First Friday nights!
 
The Hubbard Woods Design and Dine (HWDD) continues to host its exciting monthly “First Friday” events! On July 12th, the district will feature a Cocktail Hop, with each store featuring its own signature libation. Stroll the neighborhood and taste them all! Participating businesses will feature unique offerings including lively art, striking design, special presentations and must-have new products. First Friday hours will be from 5 to 8 pm. All locations will offer drinks and food, and some will even have live music!

The Hubbard Woods Design & Dine District of Winnetka is excited to announce the addition of a food truck to its July First Friday event. The food truck will be La Cocinita, which specializes in gourmet Latin America cuisine, including tacos, burri-tacos, and arepas, among others. La Cocinita will be parked at Hubbard Woods Park from 5 to 8 pm.
 
Adding a Food Truck to the mix is just the latest twist for Hubbard Woods’ First Friday event, which area merchants have been hosting every month for the last two years.  Each participating store offers a signature cocktail and light bites, as well as a special promotion.  The event has become a regular Friday night stop for area residents on their way to or from dinner.  The Food Truck provides another casual dinner option for residents as they stroll down Green Bay Road and check out art openings, trunk shows, book signings and special sales. In the warmer months, there is also live music playing outdoors, adding to the ambience of the neighborhood.
 
Participating stores are identified with festive “First Friday” signs and balloons out front. First Friday Design District maps are available at all locations.
 
First Fridays in Hubbard Woods were begun in October, 2016, by Vivid Art Gallery, an HWDD member.   Intrigued by the gallery’s success in attracting the local community to a Friday night event, HWDD saw an opportunity to turn it into something bigger.  According to Cynthia Burr, board member of HWDD and owner of Vivid Art Gallery, “First Friday’s have become a real event for the community. It’s an easy after-work or pre-dinner destination where friends can meet, mingle and shop.” 
 
The Hubbard Woods Design and Dine is an association of businesses located in the three-block retail area on the north end of Winnetka along Green Bay Road between Tower Road and Scott Avenue, commonly referred to as “Hubbard Woods.”
