Halloween Safety Advice

As Halloween approaches, Attorney General Lisa Madigan encourages Illinois families to "know their neighborhoods," as they plan safe trick-or treating routes for their children, by going online to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry website at www.isp.stat.il.us/sor.  Halloween is the one day of the year when we actually encourage our children to go out and knock on the doors of strangers and it is critical that we use every tool possible to make sure that our kids are safe.  Parents and family members can help their children keep safe by taking five minutes to check the Sex Offender Registry for sex offenders in their neighborhood.  Children should be told to skip houses where sex offenders reside.
