The Book Stall (811 Elm Street in Winnetka) hosts children's author Janet Nolan on Saturday, March 9 at 10:30 am for a story time featuring her picture book, Get Ready for School. Students aren't the only ones who have to prepare for the first day of school in this cheery book about everyone who pitches in to get the school ready! Ms. Nolan will be happy to sign her works! This Saturday Storytime is co-sponsored by Buddha Belly Kids Yoga and will include plenty of movement! The event is perfect for kids ages 2 to 6. 
 
More About the Book: The custodian turns on the lights and sweeps the hallways. Is it time for school? Not yet! The cafeteria workers wash tables and stack lunch trays. Is it time for school? Not yet! Teachers unpack supplies and organize their classrooms. Is it time for school? Almost! The students are on their way, on foot, on bicycles, and in cars and buses. Welcome, everyone!

More About the Author: Janet Nolan loves the collaborative art of picture books and how a writer’s words and an illustrator’s art come together to create something magical. An award-winning author, her picture books range from fiction to nonfiction to historical fiction. She searches for stories that haven't been told and fresh perspectives on events that bind us all together. Janet’s recent books include Get Ready for School, Seven and a Half Tons of Steel, and PB&J Hooray! Janet lives in Oak Park, Illinois. She has a B.A. from The Evergreen State College and a master’s degree in urban planning and policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Janet is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
 
More About Buddha Belly Kids Yoga: BBKY is a mobile yoga & mindfulness company founded by educators, rooted in child development & social-emotional learning, and dedicated to nurturing kids’ innate desire for movement and play. BBKY is excited to collaborate with Janet Nolan and lead our Storybook Yoga class at The Book Stall. This class is designed to combine movement and play with reading and literacy. Erin Bracco (Co-Founder and Educator) will guide families through a sequence of fun and creative poses that embody the story, bringing literature to life. Each BBYK class centers around a theme or story and is created through a child development lens.
