Gary Shapiro, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) specializing in the treatment of spine conditions in both adults and children. A strong advocate for conservative care whenever appropriate, Dr. Shapiro combines evidence-based treatment with minimally invasive surgical techniques when needed, helping patients recover efficiently and safely return to work and daily activities. He has served as the official spine surgeon for the Chicago Bears, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, and is recognized for his commitment to patient-centered care and orthopedic excellence.).png)
