DESCRIPTION:OCWW presents Fred Shafer  speaking on "A Sense of Place in Fiction." In four stellar workshops\, Fred Shafer will address setting as equally as important as character\, plot and theme. Fred will use selected examples from adult literary fiction\, genre novels and child and young adult fiction. His first presentation on September 4 will focus on the sense of place in picture books for children.\n\n\n\nFred Shafer is a literary editor\, writer and teacher in the Northwestern School of Continuing Studies\, and in private workshops for authors and film editors on their way to being published.
