The Book Stall (811 Elm Street in Winnetka) welcomes Mary Dixie Carter and David Ellis to the store on Tuesday, November 4 at 6:30 pm for a discussion featuring their newest books! Critically acclaimed author Mary Dixie Carter will discuss her newly released book, Marguerite by the Lake, an atmospheric novel about the death of a wealthy garden designer, her lonely widower, and the scrappy young gardener who smoothly steps into her life.  Bestselling author David Ellis delivers a fast-paced, twisty thriller that will surprise readers at every turn in The Best Lies, recently released in paperback.

More about the Authors: Mary Dixie Carter is the author of the critically acclaimed novel The Photographer. Her writing has appeared in TIME, The Economist, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Chicago Tribune, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The New York Sun. She served as publishing director at The Observer for five years. She graduated from Harvard with an honors degree in English Literature and holds an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two children.

David Ellis is the Edgar-winning author of eleven suspense novels as well as another eleven co-written with James Patterson. His most recent solo novels were Look Closer and The Best Lies. He won the Edgar Award for Best First Novel with Line of Vision and was a finalist for the L.A. Times Book Prize for The Hidden Man. In his day job, Dave is a Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court, where he has served for 10 years. He lives outside Chicago with his wife and children.
